If you’ve read Life@GinghamCountry
you’ve heard my whoas and moans about COPD. Winters are tough and I can’t wait for Spring. I can breathe better, sleep better and my disposition improves exponentially. If you’ve noticed my lack of new posts…just blame it on Winter blahs!
It’s 8:30 am and watch through the front window as hubby waters the potted plants circling the front of the house. It feels so good to leave the front door open and smell chilly but fresh air. I breathe better, though the tube in my nose sings a slight whistle when I inhale.
Of course, spring also brings work, more for hubby and my son than for me. But it will be a fun day whether I’m inside or out. Our son always brings friends. Big husky guys who enjoy the boisterous work even if the pay is a Solid meal and beer afterwards. They run weed-eaters and mowers and racks and water hoses until this place looks miraculous. They remove all remnants of winter and the yard is renewed and clean and ready for Spring.
Thank goodness Matt doesn’t mind and we love having him around, any friends he brings are part of the family too. Plus, we always have the best dinners on clean-up days. More family joins in; daughters, sons, grandchildren, etc. It’s a fun time when Spring Comes to the Desert Southwest. How is Spring approaching your neck of the woods?
Mowing isn’t the only fun after our yard cleaning get-together. Grilling and barbecue are next and Sons and Grandsons are nominated by demand.
Settling back for some hard-earned watching is my favorite relaxation. I never have more fun than seeing the kids and grands playing, laughing and sharing their lives.
What is your favorite thing to do when Spring finally arrives! Well, something besides “White Sales,” I hear ya!
